How to make the most of your visit to Vessey Orchards.

How will you get here?
Vessey Orchards is popular with locals, but also attracts visitors from as far as New York, New Jersey, Georgia, North Carolina, DC, Annapolis, and even folks from Saxis Island, who come by boat to enjoy the scenic view of the Pocomoke River.
Most folks come by car, but you are more than welcome to arrive by boat! We’re about halfway between Pocomoke City and where the Pocomoke River empties into the Chesapeake Bay.

What will you do here?
Pick, buy, and eat fresh fruit, of course! Folks love Vessey Orchards for many reasons. The orchard offers fresh, locally sourced fruit, giving you a chance to experience the authentic taste of the Eastern Shore. Many people also enjoy the pick-your-own option, which allows them to handpick the freshest fruit available.
The view of the Pocomoke River adds to the experience, making it a great destination for a family outing. Many families bring a packed lunch and have a picnic here at the orchard, among the apple trees or overlooking the river.

When will you visit?
You’ll want to come when there’s something to pick! Here’s what we grow and when we grow it:
And you’ll want to come when we’re open: our usual in-season hours are Monday - Friday 8am - 6pm, Saturday 8am - 5pm, and Sunday 8am - 12pm. If you want to double-check our hours for a particular day, we post all day-by-day updates to our Facebook page.
How does pick-your-own work at Vessey Orchards?
When you arrive, check in with our staff at the fruit stand. They’ll tell you what’s ripe and ready, give you baskets for picking, and point you in the right direction. They’ll even give you a free bottle of water if you forgot to bring hydration!
When you’ve picked all you want to pick, you bring it back to the stand and pay for it. It’s that simple!
Vessey Orchards offers convenient payment options, including cash, check (even by mail), Cash App, and Zelle (look us up on Zelle using the phone number 703-625-3902).
Bringing a group?
We welcome groups at no extra charge, making Vessey Orchares a great destination for school field trips, artist groups, homeschoolers, scouts, summer camps, and other groups.
